Aid to the Permanently and Totally Disabled: Characteristics of Men and Women Recipients

Thirty States had in operation programs of aid to the permanently and totally disabled in mid-1951, when the Bureau of Public Assistance, in cooperation with the State public assistance agencies, made a survey of the recipients under this newest of the assistance programs. While about the same numbers of disabled men and women were receiving assistance, there were significant di#erences in the characteristics of the two groups. These difierences are reported in the article that follows-thefinal one in a series of three based on the survey findings.
